Psalm 42:5

Psalm 42:5, “Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.”

Sometimes my soul feels dry, alone, unmotivated. I do remember times of great energy and excitement concerning my family, farm, church, God. Yes, I remember times that, “As the deer pants for the water brooks so my soul thirsts for Thee, O God!” Psalm 42:1. But much of the time it’s just not there. And, the more I think about it, when anything or anyone stops giving me soul energy I experienced before, I start feeling this dryness, aloneness and lack of motivation. Oh but this same Psalm tells me, “…hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.”
